Marketing Specialist (Full-time)
Job type: Permanent, full-time
Reports to: President (while the Senior Marketing Lead is on parental leave, Nov 2026 – approx. Oct/Nov 2027); Senior Marketing Lead thereafter
Start date: October 1, 2026
Application deadline: September 18, 2026
Join a creative, collaborative, and client-focused team. At Marlow Design, we specialize in custom, high-quality jewellery that reflects personal stories and craftsmanship. We've spent over a decade earning Calgary's trust, and our marketing tells real stories about real people's milestones.
The Role:
We're looking for a hands-on Marketing Specialist to own the day-to-day execution of our marketing — maintaining the Shopify store, paid ad campaigns, monthly newsletters, and social channels — while helping us grow our ecommerce business across Canada.
This is a rare opportunity to step into an established marketing engine rather than build from scratch. You'll inherit documented playbooks, live campaigns, and a supportive team. For the first year, you'll work directly with the President while our Senior Marketing Lead is on parental leave, which means visible impact from day one.
We're looking for someone entrepreneurial and resourceful — the kind of marketer who spots an opportunity, brings the idea forward, and can also troubleshoot on Shopify or GoDaddy.
What You'll Do
Ecommerce & Website (Shopify)
- Own day-to-day management of our Shopify store: product uploads, updates, and digital merchandising
- Build and update landing pages and site sections to support campaigns and SEO
- Support our ecommerce expansion, including new product categories and our online diamond and gemstone offering
- Monitor site performance, page speed, conversion blockers
- Monitor Shopify apps, integrations, and product feeds
- Maintain on-page SEO fundamentals
Web Management & IT Support
- Manage domain, DNS, and hosting/registrar account (GoDaddy, Shopify) and resolve domain, email, and SSL issues
- Keep platform access, credentials, and documentation organized and secure
Paid Advertising
- Manage and optimize live Google Ads (Search, Shopping, Performance Max) and Meta Ads campaigns
- Create new campaigns on a timely cadence to prevent creative fatigue, including seasonal holiday pushes
- Write ad copy, brief creative, and refresh assets on a regular rotation
- Monitor daily and weekly performance: spend, ROAS, CPC, CPA, and conversion rate
- Manage budgets, bidding, audiences, geo-targeting, and negative keyword lists
Email Marketing
- Plan, write, design, and send our monthly newsletter and campaign emails in Mailchimp based on provided content strategy
- Manage lists, segments, automations, and flows (welcome, post-consultation, abandoned cart)
Social Media & Content
- Keep a consistent posting cadence on Instagram and TikTok
- Work with the team to capture the stories behind our pieces — clients, process, craftsmanship, and team moments
- Shoot and edit clean, on-brand iPhone photo and video content
- Write captions in our voice, engage with comments and DMs
Events & Community
- Own our annual community event end-to-end — our Stampede brunch at the Ramsay studio — from promotion to event coordination
Reporting, Strategy & Growth
- Support brand campaigns and local awards or media features
- Occasionally forward new growth ideas, channels, and partnership or PR opportunities
What You Bring
Must-haves
- Legally entitled to work in Canada, and able to work on-site in our Calgary studio 4 days a week, with 1 day from home
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on digital marketing experience (in-house, agency, or ecommerce brand); 5 years preferred
- Experience owning a marketing function end-to-end — setting the plan, executing it, and reporting on results
- Post-secondary education in marketing (diploma or degree) plus a web design or development certificate — or equivalent combined training and demonstrable skills
- Working proficiency in Shopify (product, collection, and page management)
- Experience with web management tools and domain/hosting platforms (e.g. GoDaddy) and comfort troubleshooting technical issues independently
- Proven experience building and managing Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns
- Email marketing experience covering both copywriting and updating Mailchimp templates (or similar)
- Strong copywriting skills and the ability to adapt to an established brand voice
- A genuine eye for iPhone photography and short-form video; comfortable directing others on camera
- Confident, day-to-day proficiency in Canva, Affinity or Adobe Photoshop, and CapCut — you can design on-brand graphics, retouch product and lifestyle photos, and edit short-form video without outside help
- Organized, self-directed, and able to manage deadlines with minimal oversight
Nice-to-haves
- Basic HTML, CSS, and Liquid (Shopify theme edits)
- Experience marketing a considered, high-ticket, or luxury product
- Event planning or in-person brand activation experience
- Familiarity with fine jewellery
Who Thrives Here
- You're entrepreneurial — you bring ideas, not just execution
- You're curious and self-teaching — new platform, new tool, no problem
- You're detail-oriented — typos, broken links, and mismatched pricing bother you
- You're collaborative — you can pull out the stories from every piece of jewellery
- You are passionate about the craft
Why Join Us
We're a tight-knit team that genuinely feels like family. We look out for one another, celebrate the wins together, and take pride in our work. When you join Marlow Design, you're not just filling a role.

- Direct access to the President and meaningful ownership of the marketing function
- Established campaigns, playbooks, and documented processes to build on
- A supportive, team-oriented culture rooted in authenticity
- A beautiful, community-focused studio in the historic Ramsay Design Centre
- A brand recognized as one of Calgary's top jewellers, with over a decade in the city
- Work on meaningful, story-driven marketing for pieces that mark people's biggest moments
Benefits
- Two weeks of paid vacation after 1 year, to start
- Our studio closes for the week of Christmas, so the whole team has that time off — in addition to your vacation days
- Dental and health coverage after 3 months
- Growth opportunities within an established and respected custom jewellery brand
- Team celebrations, community events, and a genuinely warm studio environment
